All-out effort to rescue 6 people in coal mine accident


The government of Pingdingshan, Henan province, is making an all-out effort to organize the search and rescue of the six people who went missing at a coal mine accident that occurred on Friday, which also killed 10 others as of 2:55 pm Saturday.
All the other people in the Pingdingshan Tian'an Coal Mining at the time of the accident were out of danger, according to the local emergency management bureau.
The provincial leaders, together with the provincial emergency department, the provincial industrial and information technology department and the Henan bureau of the National Mine Safety Administration, are on-site for the rescue, it said.
An on-site rescue command center to scientifically analyze and assess the underground accident and coordinate the overall rescue operations has been established.
It also said that the lesson of the accident will be learned, a specific rescue plan for the missing people will be launched, a comprehensive inspection of safety production will be conducted throughout the city, and the reason for the accident will be thoroughly investigated.
