China has 193 million of netizens aged between 6 to 18 by the end of 2022, with 88.7 percent of them using the internet for study, according to a report unveiled on Saturday.

The report, jointly issued by the Central Committee of the Communist Youth League of China and the China Internet Network Information Center, showed that internet has become a major channel for study with rapid development of digital education.

It revealed that the proportion of underage netizens who use the internet to study has remained stable at around 90 percent over the past five years, and the number of online education applications has reached 2,655 as of December 2022.

The proportion of underage internet users watching short videos has increased to 54.1 percent in 2022 from 40.5 percent in 2018.

Thanks to the country's great efforts in introducing knowledge against fraud and cyberbullying, a majority of juveniles said that they could identify new types of online scams and take the intiative to resist online bullying, it added.
