With the New Year and Spring Festival approaching, lantern making and sales are booming in a village in Yuncheng, Shanxi province, creating a festive atmosphere.

Residents and workers diligently produce lanterns at the lantern industry park in Yangzhao village of Jishan county, Yuncheng's lantern production and distribution center.

Their lanterns are sold in more than 20 provinces and cities nationwide.

Yangzhao village is well-known for its lantern production, which has a history of over 100 years. In 2008, Yuncheng included Yangzhao's traditional lantern-making technique on its city-level intangible cultural heritage list.

Building upon their inheritance of traditional production techniques, residents have adopted a production model that involves companies, production bases, and farmers, forming an integrated industrial chain that includes raw material procurement, lantern making, sales, and transportation.
