Sino-Italian week kicks off to promote cultural exchanges

Featuring diverse activities that showcase Italian charm and promote cultural exchanges, the Sino-Italian Week kicked off at Tongji University in Shanghai on Nov 14.

During the event's opening ceremony, the university's showcase project of the internationalized campus program was inaugurated. With efforts put in various aspects such as creative design, display, workshops and communities, teachers and students from the Sino-Italian Campus aim to create an internationalized environment and enhance the university's international image.

The event also features a job fair on-site. A total of 37 Italian companies in China were invited to the campus, providing about 100 positions and internship opportunities to university students. Moreover, executives and senior HR managers from notable Italian companies, such as Bracco, Pirelli, Gi Group and Calzedonia, were also present to share job-seeking experience and interviewing skills with the university's graduates.

In addition, coming back to the campus after two years, the Sino-Italian Campus Carnival on the same day captivated both domestic and overseas students on campus.

Consisting of a variety of interactive activities, the event brought participants close to Chinese intangible cultural heritages, Chinese traditional medicine, as well as Italian wine, coffee and traditional food such as gnocchi, pasta and chocolate salami.

The Sino-Italian Week 2023 will run till December, with more activities to come to promote communications, including forums, lectures, salons, exhibitions and workshops.
