HERAT, Afghanistan - Casualties were feared as an earthquake rocked west Afghanistan's Herat, Badghis, Farah provinces, and adjoining areas on Saturday, locals said.
The tremor took place at around 11:10 local time (0640 GMT), forcing people to come out of their houses, locals said.
Officials have yet to comment.
Earlier, the GFZ German Research Center for Geosciences said an earthquake with a magnitude of 6.2 jolted northwestern Afghanistan at 0641 GMT on Saturday.
