Yahor Arlou wins wingsuit flying championship in Hunan

Yahor Arlou, an extreme sports lover from the United States, claimed the wingsuit flying championship in Zhangjiajie, Hunan province on Sunday.

Eight finalists participated in the competition held at Tianmen Mountain in Zhangjiajie National Forest Park. They had to jump from a glass platform with an altitude of 1,458 meters and travel through mountains and canyons.

The person who reached the destination, located about 1.3 kilometers away from the platform, earliest wasthe winner. Arlou arrived at the destination in about 25 seconds.

He said he was happy to compete in Zhangjiajie and felt good during trial runs.

It is a tough competition because the best wingsuit flying lovers around the world come here to compete, he said.

Zhang Shupeng, the only Chinese finalist, finished fifth place in the competition.
