Shanghai Tourism Festival set to kick off

In addition to hosting over a hundred of cultural and tourism activities in Shanghai, the upcoming Shanghai Tourism Festival will have 12 branch venues in Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Anhui, Fujian, and Jiangxi provinces.

This year's tourism festival will kick off on September 16 and run until Oct 6.

Over 182 scenic spots in the five provinces will offer discounted activities while cultural and tourism consumption vouchers worth 84 million yuan will be distributed.

"Using this year's Shanghai Tourism Festival as an opportunity, these provinces along with Shanghai have launched high-quality cultural and tourism products, routes, and services across regions, and shared regional cultural and tourism benefits, thus expanding the reach of the Shanghai Tourism Festival," said Cheng Meihong, deputy director of the Shanghai Administration of Culture and Tourism.

"The unique regional cultural and tourism festivals will allow more citizens and tourists to discover and experience the beauty and joy of different cities," she added.
