Chongqing-Taiwan Week kicks off
The 15th Chongqing-Taiwan Week kicked off in Chongqing on Tuesday morning.
At a signing ceremony, nine economic and trade projects valued at 11.74 billion yuan ($1.6 billion) were signed between eight districts and counties in Chongqing and Taiwan.
The event, themed "Sharing New Opportunities, Seeking New Development Together", is scheduled to run until Sept 15.
A total of 19 exchange activities in economy, trade, culture, sports and grassroots will be carried out, according to the Taiwan Affairs Office in Chongqing.
The event was organized by the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council and the Chongqing government.
Since 2009, the Chongqing-Taiwan Week has been held 14 times. It has become a comprehensive cross-Strait exchange platform and an important carrier for economic and trade exchanges and cooperation between Chongqing and Taiwan.
