Cambodian PM to visit China
BEIJING -- At the invitation of Chinese Premier Li Qiang, Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet will pay an official visit to China from Sept 14 to 16, foreign ministry spokesperson Mao Ning announced on Monday.
During the visit, President Xi Jinping will meet with Prime Minister Hun Manet, Premier Li Qiang will hold talks with him, and Zhao Leji, chairman of the National People's Congress Standing Committee, will meet with him, Mao told a daily press briefing when responding to a question on the visit.
This is Prime Minister Hun Manet's first official visit after taking office, which shows that the new Cambodian government attaches great importance to developing China-Cambodia relations, Mao said.
Noting that this year marks the 65th anniversary of the establishment of China-Cambodia diplomatic ties and the Year of China-Cambodia Friendship, Mao said China looks forward to making a comprehensive plan for China-Cambodia comprehensive strategic cooperation in the coming years through this visit.
In particular, China will push forward the implementation of such cooperation initiatives as the "Industrial Development Corridor" and the "Fish and Rice Corridor" as soon as possible, and will build a high-quality, high-level and high-standard China-Cambodia community with a shared future for the new era, she added.
