China aims to elevate relations with Venezuela during President Maduro's visit

Beijing is eager to take the upcoming China visit by Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro as an opportunity to chart a new course for the development of bilateral relations, and to elevate the comprehensive strategic partnership to a new level, a Foreign Ministry spokesperson said on Friday.
Mao Ning, a Foreign Ministry spokeswoman, told a news briefing that China and Venezuela are comprehensive strategic partners, and bilateral relations have withstood the test of changes in the international situation and remain rock solid.
Political mutual trust between China and Venezuela is growing stronger, and cooperation in various fields continues to deepen, she said, adding that the trip will be an opportunity for both sides to contribute to world peace and stability and upholding international fairness and justice.
Maduro will visit China from Friday to Sept 14 at the invitation of President Xi Jinping.
