Jiang Zhangziyi, who lost her legs in a car accident in 2010, took a train with her parents on Thursday to Linyi, East China's Shandong province, to start her university life.

The 18-year-old has been enrolled by Linyi University this summer, and she will study a liberal arts major.

Jiang attracted lots of Chinese netizens' attention when a photo of her father holding her hand while she sat on a scooter to leave a test site for China's national college entrance examination, or gaokao, on June 8 went viral.

"I'm very excited," Jiang said, talking about the future university life. "I hope the city has lots of delicious food," she added.
