17th edition of ethnic festival kicks off in Gansu
The 17th ethnic culture tourism art festival and traditional sports meeting kicked off recently in Qifeng Tibetan township of Sunan Yugur autonomous county in Zhangye, Gansu province. It attracted more than 10,000 tourists from nearby regions, as well as Qinghai province and the Inner Mongolia autonomous region.
Tourists experienced the unique charm of traditional ethnic culture as they enjoyed Tibetan songs and dances, original folk songs, ethnic costumes and traditional Tibetan sports.
In recent years, relying on various tourism culture and art festivals with ethnic characteristics, the county has excavated and integrated cultural and tourism resources to promote its cultural and tourism industry.
In the first half of this year, the county received more than 3.1 million tourists and received tourism revenues of 1.7 billion yuan ($240.9 million).
