Math scores plunge for American 13-year-olds

The National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP) tested 8,700 students across the country between October and December last year. The average score for 13-year-olds in math dropped 9 points from 2020, marking its lowest level in more than 30 years. The average reading score dropped four points to a 20-year low.
