2 killed in apparent shooting at gun range
Two Ground Self-Defense Forces, or GSDF, members died and one injured on Wednesday, after being shot by another member with a rifle at a GSDF shooting range in central Japan, public broadcaster NHK reported. The incident occurred at around 9 am at the GSDF facility in Gifu prefecture, NHK reported citing investigators. The 18-year-old GSDF male member who fired the rifle was arrested at the site for alleged attempted murder. The victims were a man in his 50s and two in their 20s. There were no reports of civilian casualties.

Death toll from cult surpasses 300
The number of people who died after a Kenyan pastor ordered his followers to starve to death in order to meet Jesus has surpassed 300, authorities said on Tuesday, and the death toll is expected to rise as more exhumations are planned. The death toll increased to 303 after 19 more bodies were recovered from mass graves in the vast forested land in Kilifi County of coastal Kenya, where pastor Paul Mackenzie and his followers lived.
