Over 90% of US large cancer centers face chemotherapy drug shortages

The National Comprehensive Cancer Network released a report recently that 93 percent of large cancer centers reported shortages of the chemotherapy drug carboplatin, and 70 percent reported shortages of the similar drug cisplatin. The two drugs are often used together to treat a variety of cancers, including breast, lung, prostate and many types of leukemia.
