The number of tropical fruits imported to China through the China-Laos Railway is rising — boosting international trade and satisfying the taste buds of Chinese diners.
The railway transported 23,000 metric tons of imported fruit valued at 560 million yuan ($78.5 million) from December last year to June 1, when a train carrying 740 tons of durian and mangosteen from Thailand reached Kunming, Yunnan province, after 26 hours. The fruit was transferred to fruit markets across the country.
