Six young people who were lured on false promises to Myanmar safely returned home to Lihu township in Jieyang, Guangdong province, on Thursday with the aid of related institutions.

The incident took place in mid-April, according to a statement by the government of Puning, a county-level city that encompasses Lihu.

Recently, the father of one of the six said his son told him in early May that they were lured with the promise of high-paying jobs. They were essentially forced to go to Myanmar and could not escape.

The government of Puning warned in the statement of the possible risk associated with information on high-paying jobs.
