A message from the editor

Greetings to you all.

You might have noticed that the header of the following three pages has changed from "Youth" to "Z Weekly", with "Z" referring to "Generation Z" — those born between 1995 and 2009.

That's right. From now on, these pages will be dedicated to Gen Zers both in China and abroad. They will be a place for Generation Z to tell their stories, share their passions, and voice their opinions.

We will strive to reflect the vitality of youth, presented in its myriad shapes and colors, as reflected in culture — including art, music, film and fashion — and embodied in the personalities who populate those fields.

We're looking to break down barriers between Generation Z and the other generations by introducing Gen Zers' likes and dislikes, how they view the world and how they make life choices. We're also looking to incorporate print and online media by offering videos with articles and regularly holding offline get-togethers and roundtable talks so readers can meet in person and exchange ideas.

So to put it simply, as long as you find something you like to read in here every week, even the slightest spark of interest, we'll consider our mission completed.

We welcome feedback of all kinds, including story ideas, which you can send directly to the editor at zw@chinadaily.com.cn.

We very much look forward to hearing from you.
