2023 FIE Foil Grand Prix concludes in Shanghai

In the men's group, US fencer Alexander Massialas, an Olympic silver medallist at Rio 2016, claimed the gold medal after beating Francesco Ingargiola from Italy 15-7. Hungary's Daniel Dosa and Julien Mertine from France won the bronze.

As a qualification event for the Paris Olympic Games in 2024, the event attracted more than 500 elite fencers from over 40 countries and regions. Top names include current men's world No 1 Tommaso Marini and Cheung Ka-long, who won gold at the Tokyo Olympics.
