Recently, the Beijing Raptor Rescue Center rescued two common kestrel chicks from different sources, only to find out they were from the same nest outside a residential building in Fengtai district. Both chicks accidentally fell from their nest and were fortunately saved by kind-hearted locals. On Friday, the rescue center happily reunited the chicks with their nest.

The common kestrel is a common small raptor species in Beijing that plays an important role in maintaining environmental health, ecological balance and controlling rodent and insect populations.

All raptors are second-class or higher protected animals in China. With the arrival of summer, if you encounter fallen chicks, please contact professional rescue organizations.
