Migrants rush to US border as Title 42 expires

The pandemic-era health restriction Title 42 expires on Thursday night, prompting a large number of migrants to gather at the southern border of the United States. In the early days of the COVID-19 outbreak in 2020, then-US President Donald  Trump issued a collective deportation order for those who attempted to cross the border illegally. The Department of Homeland Security said officials will rely on the stricter decades-old Title 8 after Title 42 ends.
