Three officials found dead in flood accident
Three of the four government officials who went missing after falling into the water while conducting flood prevention inspections in Fujian province have been found dead, according to the publicity department of Longyan, Fujian. The incident occurred after a short but intense rainfall began at noon on May 6 in the city's Xinluo district. At approximately 1:40 am on May 7, four town and village officials went missing after falling into the water during flood prevention inspections along the Pinglin village area. Following the incident, the Longyan City Emergency Response Joint Command was established, and over 730 rescue workers were mobilized to search for the missing officials using equipment such as drones, rubber boats, sonar and robots in the surrounding areas. As of approximately 5 pm on Wednesday, rescue workers had found three of the missing officials downstream from the incident site.
Publicity department to take media on tour
The Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee will conduct an interview activity called "The research tour of high-quality development" for major State-owned and local media. The first stop will be Shanghai, where participating media workers will go deep into the grassroots and the public to explore the local areas' customized practices in various fields, with a focus on promoting quality economic development. The tour will be conducted in five batches, with each taking place once a month. The first group of journalists on the tour, which will start on Thursday, will conduct research and interviews in Shanghai, Jiangsu, Zhejiang and Anhui. The tours are expected to last until the end of September.
