McDonald's temporarily closes US offices ahead of layoffs

US fast-food chain giant McDonald's said in a memo to employees posted on TheLayoff.com that it would temporarily close all of its US offices starting the week of April 3 and notify employees of layoffs. McDonald's which declined to comment Monday, employs more than 150,000 people worldwide, 70 percent of whom are based outside the US, according to figures the company released in February.
