As the Hangzhou Asian Games draw near, many businesses related to the games are seeing a flurry of production activities. Particularly, many local enterprises with their own brands are seizing opportunities brought about by the sporting event to more quickly go global.

Such scenes can be seen at WinTech Racing, a local rowing boat manufacturer, every day.

"We are the brand supplier for the Hangzhou Asian Games, and this year's overseas orders are already full," said Xiong Fei, chairman of the WinTech. The company is mainly engaged in the R&D, design, and production of rowing and kayaking boats, with independent intellectual property rights in the "WinTech" and "Stellar" series of competitive rowing and kayaking boats. The company's products are mainly sold to Europe, the Americas, and Southeast Asia.

Xiong said that local customs offered them a helping hand in applying for the protection of intellectual property rights and expanding the company's overseas markets.

"We have just completed the customs protection registration of IPRs for our rowing and kayaking boats, which will help accelerate our internationalization process," Xiong added.

In the first two months of this year, the company exported a total of 386 rowing and kayaking boats, a year-on-year increase of 44.6 percent.

Food production enterprises are also taking advantage of the Games to expand their international markets, with the beverage giant Wahaha Group being one of them.

"Different countries and regions have different management standards and regulations for beverage products," said Zhang Xinhai, export business manager of Wahaha. "Customs often lectures us on the latest food-related policies of different countries, helping our company's products comply with the regulatory requirements of different markets and ensuring smooth export."

Currently, Wahaha's exports are all self-owned brands, with more than 10 varieties exported to markets in the Americas and Southeast Asia.

At the beginning of this year, Zhejiang province obtained customs protection registration for 659 independent IPRs, the most in the country.
