Guizhou official placed under disciplinary review

Li Zaiyong, a former senior political advisor from southwest China's Guizhou Province, is under disciplinary review and supervisory investigation on suspicion of serious violations of Party discipline and national laws, the country's top anti-graft watchdogs said on Monday.
According to a statement issued by the Communist Party of China Central Commission for Discipline Inspection and the National Supervision Commission on Monday, Li, former vice-chairman of the Guizhou Provincial Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, was still a member of the Leading Party Group of the CPPCC Guizhou Provincial Committee at the time of investigation.
Li, 60, is a member of the Gelao ethnic group. He joined the Party in 1984 and has been working in Guizhou since he began his career in 1983.
He worked in different positions in Tongzi county of Zunyi from 1983 to January 1998, and then in Qiandongnan Miao and Dong autonomous prefecture, the provincial capital of Guiyang and Liupanshui. He served as Party chief of Guiyang and Liupanshui.
He served as a member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Guizhou Provincial Committee from December 2016 to April 2022, and as vice-governor of Guizhou since 2018.
From January 2022 to January 2023, he served as the vice-chairman of the Guizhou Provincial Committee of the CPPCC.
According to Guizhou CPPCC News, Li also participated in a meeting of the Leading Party Group of the CPPCC Guizhou Provincial Committee on March 22.
