Former director of religious affairs under probe

Cui Maohu, former director of the National Religious Affairs Administration, is under investigation by the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection for suspected "serious violations of laws and regulations," China's top anti-graft body said on Saturday.
Cui, 58, who also served as the vice-minister of The United Front Work Department of Communist Party of China Central Committee, was born in Yunnan province, where he spent a majority of his career.
