Company's lavish tour expenses inspires envy online
A sightseeing tour organized by a company in Henan province for 2,300 relatives of its employees on Mar 13 that cost over 10 million yuan ($1.45 million) made many on social media green with envy.
"Any vacancies? Sending my resume right away," a Weibo user nicknamed Fu Xiao Ye commented.
The 6-day tour to Shandong province, organized by Henan Mine Crane Co, was said to be a conventional activity held to celebrate filial piety in the company.
Employees who have worked for over three years could invite their relatives to the tour.
All expenses including transportation, dining and accommodation will be covered by the company, a publicity manager surnamed Feng told Jimu News.
Parents of the employees were also invited to participate in an evening feast held on Mid-Autumn Festival, Feng said.
The company valued filial piety, believing being nice to employees and their families inspires employees to work harder and will benefit the company eventually, he said.
This was not the first time the company caught attention on social media.
On an annual work party held by the company on Jan 18, 61 million yuan portioned out in bundles was used to reward the best-performing employees, of which three managers were each rewarded 5 million yuan, the highest reward.
With a yearly revenue over 8.3 billion yuan, Henan Mine Crane Company ranked 42 on the list of Henan Top 100 Manufacturing Enterprises in 2022.
