Jilin ski resort now largest in Asia

Although the weather is getting warmer in Northeast China, the Beidahu Ski Resort in Jilin city, Jilin province, is attracting lots of ski enthusiasts to enjoy the final days of the snow season.

During the 2022-23 season, the resort expanded its ski slopes from 27 to 64 on 239 hectares, making the resort the largest in Asia.

Jilin province, one of the top ski destinations in China, is well known for its powdery snow that lasts throughout the winter thanks to consistent frigid temperatures.

The Jilin government said it aims to create a world-class ski industry as the developing winter sports industry has invigorated the province and is expected to become a new driving force behind its economy.
