New books detail Party's century of achievements

The English edition of a four-volume series of books offering a comprehensive overview of the 100 years of development of the Communist Party of China was released on Friday in Beijing.
The series of books, entitled 100 Years of the Communist Party of China, is one of the most systematic and complete histories of the Party published so far, said Qu Qingshan, president of the Institute of Party History and Literature of the CPC Central Committee.
He said that the books record "the Party's painstaking efforts in leading the Chinese people to pursue national independence and liberation, build a stronger and more prosperous country, and seek their own happiness".
The CPC's historical experiences and tremendous wisdom are valuable assets for both the Party and the Chinese people, and people throughout the world, Qu said.
The books detail the remarkable journey and great achievements of the Party, depict the extraordinary spirit and characteristics of the Party, and reveal why the Party was successful in the past and how it can continue to succeed in the future, Qu said.
Comprehensively illustrated with 455 photos, the four volumes are: The New-Democratic Revolution; Socialist Revolution and Development; Reform, Opening Up, and Socialist Modernization; and A New Era of Socialism with Chinese Characteristics.
The books were translated into English by the Institute of Party History and Literature of the CPC Central Committee and published by the Central Compilation and Translation Press for distribution in China and internationally.
Mostak Ahamed Galib, director of cross-cultural communication and the BRI research center at Wuhan University of Technology, said that China's journey to become the world's second-largest economy would never have been possible without the Party's leadership, and the world is also eager to learn how this took place.
"The publication of the English edition of 100 Years of the Communist Party of China provides foreign readers with an authoritative text on the CPC's history. It will be a very important tool for global audiences to truly understand China, as well as socialism with Chinese characteristics," he said.
