Beijing district streamlines public involvement

Beijing's Haidian district launched an online integrated management system for public proposals and complaints this week, to make the process more convenient.
People wanting to make either complaints or suggestions can use their mobile phones to express their ideas on an official WeChat account, website, or app belonging to the Haidian district government.
The system allows people to send text messages in real time and can remind them of the progress of their ideas and suggestions.
"In the future, we will provide more services to help the system to be more convenient for people," said Zhao Lihua, director the district's public complaints and proposals bureau.
