NIH head refutes COVID lab-leak rhetoric

Viruses studied at a laboratory in Wuhan, China, bore no resemblance to the COVID-19 virus, said Dr Lawrence Tabak, acting director of the US National Institutes of Health (NIH). Tabak told a House Energy and Commerce Committee hearing on Wednesday that the viruses studied in the Wuhan lab are genetically different from the coronavirus, that they are not related, and that to suggest otherwise would be like "saying that a human is equivalent to a cow".
