Guizhou's digital economy growth rate tops in China

Southwest China's Guizhou province recently released its 2023 government work report. The report shows that digital economy has continued to lead Guizhou's economic development, and various digital applications have become the driving force for investment expansion and consumption boosting.

In 2022, Guizhou accelerated the development of its big data industry. It also promoted the construction of its national integrated computing power network hub, as well as its Eastern Data and Western Computing project.

Last year, Guiyang Big Data Sci-tech Innovation City attracted more than 400 big data related companies; the Huawei digital economy innovation center began operations in Guizhou; and the growth rate of Huawei's cloud service revenue exceeded 200 percent.

The business revenue for software and information technology services in Guizhou increased by 90.5 percent year-on-year in 2022. The added value of its electronic information manufacturing sector increased by 45.9 percent year-on-year, while the growth rate of its digital economy ranked first nationally for the seventh year in a row.

The number of Guizhou's provincial "specialized, refined, characteristic and novel" small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) increased by 228 last year, and the number of national "small giant" companies increased by 17.
