BEIJING - Leading Party members of China's top political advisory body met on Wednesday to study an important speech delivered by Xi Jinping, general secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, at the second plenary session of the 20th CPC Central Commission for Discipline Inspection, as well as the plenum's guiding principles.

The meeting of the leading Party members group of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) was presided over by Wang Yang, chairman of the CPPCC National Committee and secretary of its leading Party members group.

Noting that Xi's speech at the plenum provides fundamental guidance for advancing the great project of Party building in the new era, the meeting urged efforts to align leading Party members in both thinking and action through the guiding principles of Xi's speech.

In implementing the new requirements of the CPC Central Committee for the exercise of full and rigorous Party self-governance, the CPPCC will identify key fields by combining the study and implementation of the guiding principles of the 20th CPC National Congress and its own conditions. It will also translate the requirements of the CPC Central Committee into conscious actions from CPPCC organizations and CPPCC members, according to the meeting.

It also urged efforts to maintain good conduct among political advisors and CPPCC officials.
