Delivery companies urged to prioritize medical equipment parcels

The State Post Bureau has asked delivery companies to prioritize handling parcels containing COVID-19 related medical equipment, an official with the bureau said on Wednesday.
Bian Zuodong, deputy director of the bureau's department of market regulation, said there has been great demand for delivery of medical equipment such as drugs, masks and antigen test kits.
The bureau has worked with the Ministry of Commerce to monitor deliveries of such equipment and has taken various measures to make sure the deliveries are prioritized, he said at a news conference.
Delivery companies have been asked to mark such parcels and make sure they are sent out as soon as possible, he said.
They should also monitor the status of such deliveries and set up special teams to handle complaints, Bian said.
If parcels containing medical equipment are lost or damaged, the bureau encourages the companies to purchase the equipment for the buyers, he added.
