Egg prices have more than tripled in some US states

Egg prices in the United States have risen significantly, which has affected the consumption of American families and the restaurant industry. The average price of eggs in California was $7.37 per dozen last week, up from $2.35 last year, CBS said. Egg prices in some New York supermarkets have quadrupled in about the past six months. The national average price of eggs rose to a record $3.58 a dozen in November, according to the St. Louis Fed.
