Symphony of youth
Violinist Fan Hui-sing joined Musicus Society after winning the Young Artist Audition in 2021.
"Because of MSHK, we really got to spend a lot of time bonding, learning from one another and inspiring each other. Together we learn from the best artists," the 26-year-old violinist enrolled at the University of Music and Performing Arts Munich says.
"It's completely different from playing chamber music in school because you're in a professional environment. You cannot just show up unprepared. We're there to give our best and you can learn so much more when you're prepared."
When he got invited to perform at Musicus Society's November concert, Fan was thrilled that he would be seeing his friends and fellow ensemble members again. They spent eight hours a day for seven days practicing together.
For the concert, Fan also worked with some of Musicus Society's youngest members, including a 7-year-old.
"I just see them as my friends or colleagues," Fan remarks. "I just share everything I know with them because that's what Trey and the other mentors did with us. It's all about sharing our experiences and making the best music that we can."
