Ski festival in Changchun opens with races

The Vasaloppet China Changchun Jingyuetan International Ski Festival 2023 kicked off on Wednesday at Jingyuetan National Scenic Area in Changchun, Jilin province.

The festival, which features three professional cross-country skiing competitions and 11 cultural, tourism and trade events, will run until Feb 28.

Following the opening ceremony, three competitions were held — a 32-kilometer, 16-km and 2.5-km race. More than 330 professional skiers and enthusiasts from nine provincial-level regions, including Jilin, Gansu and Hebei, took part.
