Taizhou English portal goes online
A new English portal for the city of Taizhou in East China's Jiangsu province – www.etaizhou.gov.cn – was launched on Dec 27.
The portal is catered to the international community as it contains the latest local news as well as detailed service information. It will also offer the latest information about the city's cultural and tourism authorities, its six administrative areas, as well as eight national and provincial industrial parks.
Taizhou lies in the central part of Jiangsu province and is a major city in the Yangtze River Delta region. With a history of more than 2,100 years, it is the hometown of many luminaries like Shi Nai'an, author of the Chinese literacy classic Outlaws of the Marsh, and Peking Opera maestro Mei Lanfang.
The time-honored city is renowned for industries including bio-medicine and shipbuilding. In 2021, Taizhou's GDP grew 10.1 percent from the year before to 602.53 billion yuan ($86.08 billion), official statistics show.
