A hotel in Jinhua, Zhejiang province, recently converted itself into an exclusive COVID-19 facility, helping patients recover from the disease, according to media reports.

Starting on Monday, the hotel began to provide rooms for people infected with COVID-19 who would like to have imposed self-quarantine but lacked the proper isolation conditions at home, thePaper.cn said.

Each room costs 300 yuan ($43) per night without meals, or 400 yuan with meals.

In March this year, the hotel was designated as a place to accommodate people infected with COVID-19 for centralized isolation, but that ended on Dec 15, its manager said. It made the change because it is well-equipped and has the experience to treat patients with professional services.

At present, 80 percent of the rooms are occupied, according to the manager.

The hotel has prepared N95 masks, disposable gloves and traditional Chinese medicines. If guests have any needs, they can contact room service and have items delivered to their doorsteps by robots. Garbage is packed by guests and placed outside their rooms. The hotel is disinfected at regular intervals daily.

On Monday, authorities in Hangzhou called on those infected with COVID-19 who chose to stay in a hotel to prepare enough anti-epidemic supplies, medicines and daily necessities to carry them through their quarantine.

In Kunming, Yunnan province, another hotel has been reported as providing similar services.
