2022 Guilin Art Festival kicks off

The 2022 Guilin Art Festival kicked off on Sunday at the Guangxi Provincial Art Museum in Guilin, Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region.

With the theme of "Wind moves cloud: Unveiling a good show of nature", the first Guilin Art Festival was not only a significant manifestation of paying tribute to the classics and inheriting historical and cultural roots but was also an active exploration of building Guilin into a world-class tourism city for the future.

"The organizing committee of the festival and the Central Academy of Drama jointly promoted the global talent program for Chinese young theater directors, which will launch during the festival," said Hao Rong, dean of the Central Academy of Drama.

"We look forward to the enthusiastic attention and strong support from experts, all sectors of society and outstanding young dramatists," he added.

The program is designed to provide an all-around guarantee and service platform of talent cultivation and work promotion for young dramatists.

The program has gained the strategic support of the Scottish Asia Arts Foundation.

"As a professional who has been committed to the international promotion of Asian arts for a long time, I am very pleased and excited about the program," said Wang Yongjia, executive director of the foundation. "Focusing on the youth and the world fully reflects the foresight and distinctiveness of the festival."

Around 130 activities will be held across the city during the festival, including drama performances, street parades, live music and lectures.
