La'eeb, the mascot of the 2022 FIFA World Cup, is depicted in the form of clay sculptures at Jinan pottery sculpture technique inheritor Wang Lingtao's handicraft studio.

"When I saw this year's mascot, I got the idea to make the mascot," Wang said. He likes football as well.

"It took me three days to create the mascot based on the picture," Wang added. "The mascot is simple in shape." To make the mascot more stereoscopic, he bakes it in the oven for 18 hours at a temperature of over 1,200 degrees Celsius.

Each sculpture by Wang undergoes numerous steps in order to produce a high-quality work of art, including choosing the materials, kneading the clay, sculpting, and airing the glaze.

In Wang's opinion, clay sculptures should represent the trend of the times to make them come to life, which is why he often creates new sculptures according to latest hot issues in order to be more popular in current markets.

"I hope the La'eeb sculpture will attract more people's attention to the World Cup," Wang noted.

In addition to La'eeb, he is also creating various designs of rabbits, which is the zodiac for the approaching 2023 Chinese New Year.
