The largest land port on the China-Russia border, Manzhouli in the Inner Mongolia autonomous region, and Suifenhe Port, Heilongjiang province's largest land port, recorded 20,000 trips of inbound and outbound China-Europe freight trains since 2013, according to the China Railway Harbin Group.

Over the past nine years, the trains have carried over 1.85 million standard-sized shipping containers, transporting daily necessities, general merchandise, mechanical equipment, metals, agricultural products and timbers between China and European countries.

There are currently 22 routes for China-Europe freight trains via the two ports, which help promote trade between 60 Chinese cities and 28 cities in 13 European countries including Russia, Germany, Poland and Belgium.
