Shandong promotes dialogue with Africa

The second China-Africa Future Leaders' Dialogue was held on Nov 25 via online channels. The event was jointly organized by the Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries and the Shandong People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries.

Nearly 300 representatives from the governing units of the China African People's Friendship Association and youth representatives from both sides attended the event online.

Tang Zhouyan, vice-chairman of the Shandong Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, introduced the achievements of practical cooperation between Shandong and Africa in various fields, and said that under the promotion of various friendly forces between China and Africa, Shandong's economic and trade cooperation with Africa has been increasingly strengthened, and Shandong's medical assistance and mutual educational cooperation have yielded positive results. 

Tang added that for a brighter future, China and Africa should foster new forces, expand new opportunities for cooperation and deepen friendly and mutually beneficial cooperation at the sub-national level, in sister cities, among young people and in emerging industries.

Jiang Jiang, vice-president of the Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, reviewed the history of China-Africa friendly exchanges by recounting historical events such as Chinese medical team assistance in Africa, the Tazara Railway and African countries' support for restoring China's lawful seat in the United Nations.

Jiang expressed hope that the young people of China and Africa will carry the baton of China-Africa friendship, further strengthen exchanges and cooperation, enhance mutual understanding and join hands to contribute their bright futures to building a China-Africa community with a shared future in the new era.
