Ice and snow activities for this year's winter season were launched with great fanfare on Nov 26 at the Beidahu Ski Resort in Jilin city, in Northeast China's Jilin province, according to local media reports.

The series of activities, jointly launched by the China Skiers Conference and its strategic partner Guojiao 1573, will run to Dec 11.

According to preliminary statistics from the China Skiers Conference, the number of participants in various online activities exceeded 10,000.

During the activities staged on the day, the Guojiao 1573 Online Mileage Challenge and on-site teaching were big hits with enthusiasts. Internet influencers for skiing – including Zhang Yiwei and Kang Ziqi – demonstrated various freestyle skiing and taught fans on-site basic freestyle moves in more than an hour of tutoring.
