Sanya of Hainan province began to resume all production and get people's lives back to normal beginning at noon on Tuesday, after the city reported no new COVID-19 infections for six consecutive days, local authorities said.

All companies recovered operations, with the seafood market reopening as well. Dine-in service has also resumed with large banquets still suspended, according to a notice from the city's leading group for the fight against COVID-19 on Tuesday.

Restrictions on communities will be gradually lifted under the premise of continued epidemic prevention and control measures. Crowded gatherings such as big conferences, trainings, exhibitions and performances are still suspended, it said. All public places ask for negative nucleic acid test results within 72 hours.

Thirteen scenic spots will reopen during the upcoming National Day holiday from Oct 1 to 7, including the Nanshan Mountain; Dadonghai tourism resort, a popular seaside attraction; the Yalong Bay Tropical Paradise Forest Tourist Area and the Wuzhizhou Island, said Meng Xuyan, deputy director of Sanya's tourism, culture, radio, film and sports bureau, at a news conference on Tuesday. All the attractions will allow tourist-flow no higher than 75 percent of their maximum reception capacity.
