Children paint a bright future for China, Japan and S.Korea

An annual children's painting exhibition dedicated to promoting exchanges and friendships among children from China, Japan and South Korea kicked off in Shanghai on Saturday.
The month-long event, which is in its 10th edition this year, is themed on "Beautiful nature, harmonious home." It showcases 300 paintings by children of the three countries at the China Welfare Institute Children's Palace.
"In the past 10 years, thousands of children from China, Japan and South Korea have showcased their talent and strengthened communication and friendship through art," said Chen Jing, chairman of the Shanghai People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, at the opening ceremony. "People can feel pure and sincere emotion and inspiring power through the children's art."
Chen said he hopes that children from the three countries can seize the opportunities to strengthen communication and build a harmonious future together.
