In Fujian, basketball plays a special role

Many villagers in Jinjiang, Fujian province, love to play or watch basketball and have nurtured a strong cultural atmosphere.

Gong Songlin, 44, is a resident in Nantang village of Jinjiang. He participated recently in a basketball game that rekindled his enthusiasm for the sport.

"I miss it," Gong said, calling it "wild basketball". He hadn't played in about four years.
