The opening ceremony of 2022 Beijing Author Day was held on Tuesday. At the same time, the results of the Beijing Federation of Literary and Art Circles (BFLAC) literature translation project were released, and the third stage program was also signed in Beijing.

The event was sponsored by the federation and co-organized by Beijing Lao She Literature Academy and China National Publications Import & Export (Group) Co Ltd.

Some Chinese writers and Sinologists shared their feelings and opinions about the internationalization of Beijing literature at the ceremony, such as Chinese writers Zhou Xiaofeng and Xing He, Sinologists Dmitry Kuleshov from the UK, Jacopo Maria Lasala from Italy, and Rebecca Peyrelon from France.

The signing ceremony of seven books for the third stage program was held on-site, including My Destiny written by Liang Xiaosheng (Russia edition), Auspicious Time written by Zhang Zhilu (English edition), The Moon in the Deserted Temple by Ge Fei (Spanish edition) and Booking Death by Bi Shumin (Korean edition).

Several overseas publishing houses attended the signing ceremony of the third stage translation program through internet, including Unicorn Publishing Group from UK, Hyperion Press from Russia, Tunisia Oriental Knowledge Publishing Company among others.

Chen Ning, Party secretary and executive vice-president of BFLAC, said at the ceremony that the year 2022 is fruitful in the field of cultural exchange. Beijing Author Day plays an important role in publicizing Beijing literature works, showing the development of Beijing literature and positive image of China.

The federation will continue to make contributions to promoting China and its literature. Chen also encouraged people to take advantages of this event to tell more Chinese stories across the world.
