Recently in Denver county an art and culture week was held, gathering figures from the sectors of public art, tourism and folk crafts who toured and advised on how to further facilitate rural vitalization in the region.

The week continued a yearlong public art initiative, beginning in August 2021, which brought together cultural institutions in Beijing and Guizhou to the villages in separate journeys. Tours and field investigations enabled people from different sectors of art and tourism to be exposed to the natural environment and the lives of ethnic communities, understanding their true needs of development.

For example, during the week people visited the Dali Dong village, which has formed a distinctive social system in a history of some four centuries. They also visited Zaidang, the village known for a booming culture of "Galao", of which villagers of the Dong ethnic group have learned the grand songs since childhood and participated in public chorus.
