Investigation reveals details of Chongqing wildfires

As of Tuesday, Chongqing has issued a red alert for high temperatures for 15 consecutive days, and a red alert, the highest level, for forest and prairie fire risks for 19 consecutive days, according to the municipal meteorological observatory.

The State Forest Fire Prevention Headquarters, the Ministry of Emergency Management and National Forestry and Grassland Administration now have sent a joint group to guide efforts to fight the fires. A national firefighting and rescue team of more than 2,800 people has rushed to Sichuan and Chongqing, along with firefighting materials and four helicopters.

The Ministry of Emergency Management has issued an orange alert for forest fires in 15 more provinces.
